Sherpa History

  

Between 1480 and 1500, a small band of twenty-five to fifty Tibetans migrated from different localities in the Salmo Gang district of the Kham region of eastern Tibet to Tinkye, in south-central Tibet, to escape the turmoil of war being carried out on by the Mongols in eastern Tibet but decided to move on again
